Description
This is a very nice and very interesting album ofold circus photographs. These are mostly snapshots, taken/collected by one CFA member over a 40-year period. There are 192 photos all told, probably 80% b&w. Most people are not
identified, but there are notes on the front of some photos. The album is 9" x 11.5".
The person who owned this collection put notated sheets of paper between each group of photos; photos are divided into sections based on circus/year/location.
Snaps range from the 1930s into the mid-1970s. Circuses include the combined Ringling Bros/Barnum/Bailey show, Sells & Gray, Cristiani, Cetlin-Wilson, Dailey Bros., Hoxie Bros., Lewis Bros., Circus Vargus, Wallace Bros. (one 1961 photo only), and Clyde Beatty. There are 6-7 snaps at the end that the owner noted were from other sources (Eddie Jackson, Dick Anderson, CHS).
The snaps show performers, crews, trains, wagons, trucks, animals, tents, and performances. There are some set ups and take downs, maybe a couple backyards.
The snaps are mostly 3" or 5" wide. There is one 8X10 photo of a man standing in front of an elephant. I do not know if there is writing on the back of all the snapshots. The photos are in cellophane holders, and all are in a heavy cardboard 3-ring binder. Condition of the photos is good-very good.
These are informal snapshots, some more interesting than others. They were taken by a circus fan, not a professional.
A few of the photos were stamped on the back "Robert D. Good, Allentown, Pa.," but I have not taken 95% of them out of their plastic folder, so I don't know if the rest have notations/stamps.
I have no reason to believe the album belonged to Mr. Good.
I've uploaded a fair representation of the photos in the album. I have two more albums left, and they will go up after this one sells.
This album will be shipped priority flat rate medium box at .95.

NOTE 2: You may find prices written on the backs of postcards or photographs that you purchase from me. I buy these items, usually in large quantities, from a variety of sources. Some previous dealers or owners may have written those prices on the cards/photos. They have no bearing on the price I ask or the price you pay.
NOTE 3: eBay collects sales tax now; I have nothing to do with that.
NOTE 4: Shipping costs continue to go up. I try to ship your item(s) as quickly and as inexpensively as possible. For smaller, heavier items, I use USPS priority flat rate boxes. I will try to keep your costs down as much as I can. Please see NOTE 1 above about paper items.
NOTE 5: Please check the photograph(s) on the ads; they are an important part of the description.
If you have questions, please ask before bidding.
