19th Century English Royal Navy Officer's Sword w. Scabbard

Description

An antique 19th century English Royal Navy officer's sword with lions head pommel fresh from a local estate. The sword measures 35.75" overall in the scabbard. The sword measures 35" long and the blade measures 28 1/8".
The sword and scabbard are in very good condition with some pitting on the single edged blade. The single edged blade has no markings and is not engraved. It is straight with no bends.
The beautiful brass fittings have a gold finish with some wear - most on the rear of the grip. The white ray skin grip shows some wear which is visible in the photos. The wire wrap is original and complete. Folding guard is operable but the peg on the top scabbard fitting for it to clip to is missing.
The leather scabbard has brass fittings with two rings. The leather is in good condition with no bends or breaks. Stitching on seam is missing but the leather holds in position. A nice example fresh from a Connecticut home and new on the market.
