antique Allen Herschell center board

Description

Antique Allan Herschell painted center board for a carousel original this is the main panel of a group of panels it is hand painted oil on wood i believe it to very close to the manufacture which would be late 1800's to early 1900's, these are scenes from all over the country. It is believed that he painted these as he traveled, each panel has 6 light bulb sockets and i still have original bulbs in various colors. Several of the panels have been white washed to keep the panels modern but the paintings were never painted over.
