    Description

    Original Austrian Model 1837 Infantry Officer's sword Cutlass.  Sword measures 31" overall with a blade length of 25.5".  Steel curved blade with fuller, still retains much original finish with light age patina. Ricasso area marked with Austrian Double-Headed Eagle Coat of Arms Proof Mark.   Wood grip still wrapped with black leather and minimal loss.  The ring below the guard and the handle wiggles back and forth.  The cross-guard does not have the usual rain guard usually seen on this pattern, but instead has a scabbard catch lock modification that is missing the press-stud, the latch still retains pressure.  No scabbard.  See photos for further details, clarification, and condition.
