Authentic artifact! Metal detector find.
Rusty patina!
The handle was added later, but even the handle is already outdated.
The handle has signs of rot where it enters the head of the ax
(see photos 9 and 10)

From there down, is in good condition, with a few holes of a tree worm
(see photos 4,7,11 and 12)
