    Description

This is an old, original piece, Model 1910 manufactured by Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co in Solingen Germany. This can be verified by the stamps that have engravings on both sides of the beginning of the blade, below the escutcheons. It replaced the Saber of Officers of the Argentine Army model 1898. Its hilt is reminiscent of the famous English saber for Light Cavalry of 1876, also known as "a la Blucher" or the German model 1811.
The guard is simple, with a ring or stirrup, with escutcheons, made of cast bronze, chiseled and gilded, and measures 135 mm long and 25 mm wide and the ridge ends in a rounded end.
The pommel is long with irregular inner edges, its termination is flattened and the fixing nut of the spike is embedded in it.
The handle was made of diagonally ribbed Bakelite and the ferrule is chiselled in the shape of waves.
The blade, made of burnished Solingen steel, is semi-curved, cane-shaped, flat and without gaps and with a raised back edge.
Acid etching has on the right face and framed by a reserve of laurels, the full-length figure of The Republic and on the left in Gothic letters, the legend "SEAN ETERNOS LOS LAURELES", leaving each word within laurel branches.
The scabbard is made of sheet iron pavoned painted black, with a single ring fastened by a smooth clamp, with a hole for hooking on the left side.
It has a built-in nozzle fixed by one or two screws, with a short asymmetric flap.
