SCHUMANN HORSES
Circus Schumann was a very old German Circus.
In 1916 they moved to Denmark with their 70 horses,
because of the fear of wold war I. They stayed in
Denmark until their last season back in 1982.
The Schumanns are a cele-
brated family of horse
trainers whose history goes
back to the very beginnings
of the circus. Gotthold
Schumann, the son of a Ger-
man saddlemaker worked
with his six sons at the
Circus Renz in Germany
which was founded in the
last century by Ernest Renz,
Father of the German
Circus
