Description

Antique French Grip foil with a figure 8 Guard.
Sword Blade is Marked with the following: (Photos of markings and tip are magnified for true identity)
P. Brigandi
France
BPR
Size 5
Blade Length from Guard to tip is 32" inches
Total Length from end to tip is 40" inches
Leather handle does show some stains see photos for details.
Following notations: The guard wiggles some.
Under magnification, the tip appears that it may had been snapped off at one time.
The blade over all is somewhat straight but does have a couple of slight bows to the blade.
As you can tell, the Leather next to Guard and handle wrap is not original. I am not sure, but I think originally these swords came with some type of twine wrapped handle and had a leather piece next to guard, but again I could be wrong since I am not an Expert when it comes to swords.
