Exhibiting symbols of a crossed sword and shepherds crook in a shield with the lamb & lion, crested by the all seeing eye and a 3 linked chain. Very fancy! Fine leather covered grip bound in brass wire and a crowned globe of the Earth for the pommel. 28" diamond section steel blade is finely engraved and bearing the name HARLEY R SMITH. Makers mark CINCINNATI REGALIA CO CINCINNATI OHIO. Inscribed with motto; PAXAUT BELLUM. Brasses bear a lot of original gold plating, scabbard nickel plating is now rough and may clean better. Circa 1880's, sound condition all consistent with age and use. All original, ship weight is 4 pounds.
