Jian Tai Chi Bat Sword w/ Sheath

Here we have up for sale a Jian Tai Chi Bat Sword w/ Sheath!
This sword and sheath combo is in Very good overall condition showing light handling marks on both. We believe the decorative knot near the top of the cording should be a circle. We have no ideas on how to get it back in that shape without potential damage, so we have not tried.
We cannot read the characters - but would appreciate a translation if you can!
In the sheath the total len
gth is 41-1/2"
Out of the sheath the total length is 36-3/4"
Handle from butt to guard is 8-1/8"
Sword blade from guard to tip is 28-3/4"
Blade width ranges from 1-3/8" to 1" (guard to base of point)
Bat on the guard is 3-3/4" wide with a thickness of approx. 1".
