John Lundemo bolo/gunununting

Description

This is a Lundemo bolo/gunununting blade that I got second hand.
I got it as a bare blade and had a handle and guard put on.  I went a different direction and use orange wood that will age well over time.  It is not in a filipino style grip exactly. I went a different direction because this is more usable and feels more comfortable.  They are too round to have good edge alignment (in my opinion)  so I went with this.  I also had the threaded bit clipped off and went with a pin so that the blade can be disassembled if needed. Only the blade was done by John Lundemo I had the handle made by the same person I use to mount my custom
Japanese
style swords.
The blade is sharp but not overly sharp. The blade has scuffs, scrapes, and some pits from rust. It never got a final finish from John and was sold off because he was not happy with the shape. It feels great in the hand and moves very well.
