Description
Offered here for your consideration is are two items that came from the same individual who was a 34th degree Mason and a Leader in the Knights Templar Constabulary (hope I have this correct as I am no Mason). These items were given to me in the late 1980's at the death of a relative who was a prolific well known antiquities Dealer from the 1920's till their passing. The sword and Stole are a Connecticut Lodge and date to the late 1800's into the early 1900's. The Swords' Scabbard is quite special as it has three dimensional scrolled relief on the Hangers and Drag, something no seen on more modern scabbards. The Makers Hallmark is gone, but I've seen an example made by Pettibone that reflects the same craftmanship. It's interesting that each piece has had removed an insignia of the Templars...maybe a coincidence, or is it symbolic? The Scabbard is made of a Copper Alloy Composite and retains a copper hue, seldom have I seen this and have only three such Fraternal Scabbards as such (not including this one and they are all 19th Century examples).(

Please see my other auctions as I'm reliving myself of 58 years of collecting and I have a lot of swords and bayonets that I will be listing.
