M1852 US NAVY SWORD Serpent for Guard * 2-PC STEEL STAMPING DIE * MC Lilley 1189
From the archives of MC Lilley, this listing is for a 2-piece stamping die used to make the serpent head decorations for the Guard of the US Navy model 1852 officer’s sword.  The die probably dates to the 1920’s.   The dimensions are 2 ½” x 3” and the 2 pieces range in height from 1 ⅞” to 2” plus the steel alignment pin.  The combined weight is 8 lb 10 oz.  The die was stored with grease on the working surface so the overall condition is Fine with great pattern details but there is pitting on the sides and bottom.  Please look at all the photos and ask any questions.  See my other listings.  Free shipping is included for USA buyers.
