Parade Romanian Officer's Sword Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen dynasty

Description

Sword Sabre from Romania and the Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen dynasty.
Total length of the sword is 39 inches. The steel scabbard is 34 inches long with two rings mounted on opposite sides, approximately 3 inches below the throat. The grip is made of blackened Wood or Bakelite.
The grip guard is cast metal with a floral pattern. The grip guard turns into the stylized flowing main of an eagle with ruby colored eyes holding the pummel end of the knuckle bow in its open mouth.
On the spine of the blade under ricasso there is etching “CARL EICKHORN SOLINGEN” and on the near location of the blade there is etching “Toledo”. The blade’s lower half has the channel on each side with a rounded spine. The blade is straight and measures 33 inches long. The blade’s width at the ricasso is measured at 7/8 inch. The blade retains most of its original finish. There is some chipped nickel plating at the end of the blade.
The blade is nickel plated and beautifully heavily etched, left side shows the Romanian Coat-of-arms full variant with Latin sentence NIHIL SINE DEO (NOTHING WITHOUT GOD) belonging to the Hohenzollern family prominently centered and opposed on the midline of the blade approximately eight inches from the ricasso. The right side has the royal cipher of Carol I, the King of Romania (reigning King of Romania from March 26th, 1881 to October 10th, 1914).
