    Historical context
    :
Superb and rare Soviet Russian Army dagger, model 1955.The Soviet model is inspired by the Tsarist navy dagger model 1907. From this date, the dagger is worn only out of service, with an apparent belt, on the coat, without the full dress scarf, with the exception of the mechanical engineers who also have it in parade dress instead of the saber. The dagger will continue to equip the Russian army after the revolution: the army, the navy and the rarest, the Soviet aviation dagger. The emperor's monogram is replaced by communist symbols and the reward daggers (golden weapon, Saint-Georges, Saint-Anne) no longer exist. We can just mention a few copies with a metal plate engraved and fixed on the scabbard, for the retirement of the officer or as a military gift from the Soviet leaders. For more information, do not hesitate to consult the works of A.N. Kulinski or the gazette of arms N ° 146 of October 1985.
