Description
Historical context:
Here is a superb Cossack kindjal, made by Caucasian gunsmiths. The kindjal is a traditional Russian weapon, it can be called a large knife or a dagger. These superb pieces were mostly made by local Caucasian craftsmen (Omarov, Guzunov...) or official and necessarily more regulatory factories, such as the Zlatoust or Tula factory. The kindjals were widely used in the Russian Empire until the end of it in 1917. We also know some examples made during the Soviet era, but they were only decorative or ceremonial weapons, used during military parades.
