Vintage Sword Made in India ELEPHANT Etched Curved Blade Talwar Sabre & Scabbard

For Sale: India Elephant Vintage Sword
Vintage talwar sabre with curved blade. Total length ~ 36" and it is a hefty 2+ lbs. Includes scabbard: appears to be leather covered wood, and the bottom locket is solid metal.
Blade is etched the same on both sides. Near the hilt there is an elephant with raised trunk, next to characters (I don't know what it says), and there is a nice pattern running nearly the full length of the blade. About half-way up it says "Made in India".
Condition:
The handle is wrapped up in black electrical tape. I don't know what it looks like underneath, but I presume it is damaged in some fashion. It is wrapped up pretty tight so I decided not to unwrap and inspect it. The metal guard is rusted and discolored.
The blade shows rust and other wear. There are occasional dark spots as in photo #9. The blade is unsharpened. The cutting edge doesn't appear to have any major nicks or other damage.
The scabbard is poor with severe damage at the tip (photo #3). The tip is broken apart with missing pieces so that the blade is exposed. There is also wear on the black leather, and the leather seam has split in one spot (photo #2 it is the white strip 3/4 of the way up the length). The metal locket on the scabbard is rusted (last photos)
