Vtge.Sword, belt & knotted silk tassel of Officer.Argentine Navy used since 1901

Description

It is a vintage sword with the knotted silk tassel (dragona in Spanish) and the belt with its shots to wear it with the ceremonial uniform of the Argentine Navy Officers. It is in force since the 1901 Regulation.
It is a naval sword with a half bronze basket, with floral motifs.
The pommel is long and ends in an eagle's head and is attached to the spigot by means of a countersunk nut.
The handle is made of white bakelite and has a bronze lining all along its upper and inner part, which fit into the pommel and at its other end into the ferrule that holds the handle.
The blade is semi-curved, with hollows, it presents a reserve with naval and floral motifs and in between, the legend "ARMED ARGENTINA", all acid etched.
On its left side, it has the AAMZ brand (ARSENAL DE ARTILLARIA DE MARINA ZARATE in Spanish) engraved, since they were manufactured in the Naval Arsenals between the 1940s and the 80s.
The scabbard is made of iron sheet covered in leather and the mouthpiece forms a single body with the clamp. In this body, an anchor is in relief.
A second ring held by a clamp with floral motifs and a long ferrule, also with floral motifs, with an asymmetric lyre leaf.
All fittings are bronze and are attached to the body by a screw on the back.
The length of the blade is 760 mm and the total is 910 mm.

It is complemented by the silk belt with oak leaves, their respective shots to carry the sword and the corresponding knotted silk tassel all in excellent condition.
